Lubiprostone Heptanoate CAS number is 136790-77-7 which is a senior intermediate of Lubiprostone, the synthesis is very difficult. There are three ways to synthesize Lubiprostone Heptanoate, the first is to use p-phenylbenzoylcolicide as raw material, synthesize the fluorine-containing  lower side chain and then synthesize the carboxyl group-containing upper side chain The used reagent is methyl ester. The second is based on the coriolide protection base as the starting material, let its hydroxyl was protected by Dihydropyran, the use of the upper side chain is acid, and the lower side chain does not protect the hydroxyl group. The above step of two ways are longer and the upper side of the chain is expensive, and use the toxic reagents ethanol thallium. The third is based on (-) coriolide as raw material, dissolved in DMF, followed by adding imidazole and DMF solution containing tert-butyl dimethyl chlorosilane, through the reaction to selectively protect the primary hydroxyl.
