Obeticholic Acid Cas 459789-99-2 refer to 6-Ethylchenodeoxycholic acid or 6-Ecdca or 6-Ethyl-cdca or C15636. It is a human bile acid mimetic that is semi-synthetic chenodeoxycholic acid. Obeticholic acid cas number 459789-99-1 belongs to the farnesol X receptor agonist, by activating the farnesol X receptor, indirectly inhibits cytochrome 7A1 (CYP7A1) gene expression. Because CYP7A1 is the rate-limiting enzyme for biosynthesis of cholic acid, it can inhibit cholic acid synthesis and is useful in the treatment of primary biliary cirrhosis and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. It is the first drug for the treatment of cholestatic liver disease during 20 year. The study was used in patients who did not respond adequately or intolerance to the old standard treatment drug of Ursodeoxycholic acid

Obeticholic acid (Obeticholic Acid), also known as 6-ethyl chenodeoxycholic acid, is a new derivative of chenodeoxycholic acid (CDCA) in the primary bile acid, and a natural ligand for the farneside derivatives X receptor ( FXR). Oberbetaine is an agonist for farnesol X receptor, inhibiting gene expression of cytochrome 7A1 (CYP7A1) by activating the farnesol X receptor. Because CYP7A1 is the rate-limiting enzyme for biosynthesis of cholic acid, it can inhibit cholic acid synthesis and is useful in the treatment of primary biliary cirrhosis and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
