Product Description

    Conivaptan hydrochloride CAS number is 168626-94-6. which is a non-peptide dual antagonist of arginine vasopressin (AVP) V1A and V2 receptors. The main pharmacodynamic effect of treating hyponatremia is the V2 receptor antagonism of AVP in the renal collecting duct, causing diuretic action or free water elimination. Clinically, it is mainly used for the treatment of hospitalized patients with hyponatremia with normal blood volume and/or high blood volume. The most common adverse reactions were injection site reactions, fever, hypokalemia, headache, and orthostatic hypotension.
In December 2005, the US FDA approved the use of Conivaptan hydrochloride for isovolumic hyponatremia, making it the world's first AVP receptor antagonist. In February 2007, it was approved by the FDA to be extended for use in high-volume hyponatremia. In October 2008, the FDA approved the use of Conivaptan hydrochloride for the treatment of patients with hyponatremia of normal blood volume and/or high blood volume, and was officially listed in the United States in April 2009.
The sensitivity of Conivaptan hydrochloride to normal cells of cats is very small, and it has obvious inhibitory effect on cat coronavirus, which can significantly reduce the toxic value of virus in cells. Indirect immunofluorescence assay showed that Conivaptan hydrochloride CAS number 168626-94-6 inhibited the proliferation of feline coronavirus in cells in a dose-dependent manner.
